For as long as I can remember Halloween and Costume parties have been a big part of my life. Maybe it has something to do with being born on Halloween or maybe I just like the fact that a costume is like a mask we put on and just for one day or for a few special moments we are the super hero, swashbuckling pirate, princess, or whatever of our fantasies.

I can’t tell you how many costume, Halloween, and thrift stores I have visited to get just the right outfit, for just the right occasion.

The first costume I remember getting was in grade school and Star Wars extremely popular with my peers. As great as the movie was, there were so many kids that wanted to be characters from the movie.

I can’t tell you how many Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Bubba Fets I saw on Halloween night. I wanted to be one of the Jawas, you know the ones that bought and sold droids. costume jawa

So I used my father’s bathrobe that was dark brown in color and of course it was overly large. My mom sewed up some of the excess parts and we rigged a pair of nerd glasses with special red lights that were battery operated.

I put the bathrobe on and of course you couldn’t tell who I was, just that I was a Jawa with a cool looking costume and homemade glasses rigged for special effects.

Certain moments in our life define us and maybe they get branded in our soul, but that moment in grade school with the coolest costume (in my opinion) in the whole school I became a costume junkie.

If you want to talk about dress up, then I probably take the cake, excess batter included. I know I shouldn’t talk about it but because normal people just don’t want to play dress up all the time, but I do.

A few years back I convinced a bunch of my friends to come as characters from Alice in Wonderland. To name a few we had Alice, the Mad Hatter, and me as the Cheshire Cat.

I had a seamstress make a suit for me from the pink and purple colors of the cheshire cat and my grin upon donning that wonderful suit was equal to the cat that got the canary, if not larger.

The creation of this website has been a labor of love. My goal has been to make it as comprehensive a costume site as possible. I have included as many pages as I can get to on Halloween costume, costumes for kids, costumes for men, for women, etc.

If you can think a costume idea, then in some shape or form I probably have it on this site. There is no idea that is too crazy or too risqué that I haven’t thought about or even better—used in some shape or fashion.

Have fun in your search and don’t be afraid to get in touch with me if you have any questions about this site or costume dressing in general.
